Neighborhood
Leofoo Resort is one big self-contained destination. Walking around is part of the experience, but most walking destinations are within the resort complex itself. The most critical and thrilling walkable destinations are the Leofoo Village Theme Park, and in summer, the Leofoo Water Park. The hotel sits directly next to these parks, and a special pathway allows walking from the hotel lobby to the park entrance in just a few minutes. Such unbelievable convenience probably makes it easy to pop back into your room for a rest or swim any time during the day—something that will work quite well for families with young kids.
The other main walkable area is within the resort itself. The hotel is constructed with many paths and huge viewing windows over the main animal enclosure. A considerable amount of time can be spent walking both inside and outside the public areas of the hotel, searching for different views of giraffes, zebras, and rhinos. The resort’s grounds are part of the attraction: safe, beautifully themed space at night in which to walk. This internal walkability, mainly focused on watching animals, is a big feature.
There are absolutely no external towns, villages, local restaurants, or shops within walking distance. The resort is located in a rural and isolated area of Hsinchu County. The experience is all-encompassing, where all your dining and entertainment needs are met within the Leofoo complex. This is not a hotel that acts as a base from which to explore a local neighborhood on foot. This is the destination.
